yes it frees up allot of HDD space, that alone is worth it. But it is nice to have a 64bit OS. And it is pretty cheap. I am not sure about Lion, it is iphone and Ipad meets mac. Not sure I want a apps type mac.

Also as Lion will be brand new, it will most likely have glitches in it, I would hold off at least 6 month after Lion is release to switch to it. I jump on aperture 3 when it was first released. Had to deal with the problems until they got the updates out to fix the crashing issues. And other goof stuff. With the OS, I do not think I would jump in as quickly.

Yes, go for Leopard. It's quite stable and an excellent performer.

What is your iMac's model identifier? (Found from Apple > About This Mac > More Info and will be something like iMac3,1). What OS do you have now?

yes it frees up allot of HDD space, that alone is worth it.

What do you mean it frees up more hard drive space?

But it is nice to have a 64bit OS.

The utility of a 64-bit OS may not be meaningful in this instance.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

The snow leopard OS is more space efficient compare to regular leopard. So allot of the redundant files and stuff form leopard are deleted giving you a decent chuck of your HDD back for other things.
