That was priceless. To all who do this as a profession, I applaud you.

obviously the author feels threatened by some amateurs, which appeals pretty pathetic to me. i don't tell them to stop using a computer because they are not it-professionals. if people want to spend money for crappy pictures let them, you will find this in every profession.

Have a look at the other posts on his blog. Alot of them are so cynical its comical, so I believe he means it in a satirical manner although with some genuine dislike. I, my myself, am getting quite a chuckle reading some of them :)

That was priceless. When I started shooting college sports last year some of the "pros" where so hostile it was palpable on the sideline. Still are, actually, even though my photos are better than a lot of theirs.
Added to rss feed.

Life is good. Photograph it.

while all this might be true it doesn't change the reason why he wrote this.

Have a sense of humor guys. Regardless of if the guy was venting out his frustration or insecurities. If you have been doing this long enough, most of what he said was true.

I liked the picture of the dude with the mountain of gear on his back. I always chuckle when I take my daughter to the park and there is a dad with $10,000 of gear taking pictures.

I dunno... I have a pretty good sense of humor, but I just don't think he's very funny. Just sounds like bitter, sour grapes to me, not humor.

The other posts put it in context. The whole blog seems meant to be funny. That post in particular is the most serious sounding.
