The lemurs of South Lakes Wild Animal Park are allowed to roam free within their compound, and the ring tails go where they want. At feeding time they let the visitors feed them, but tell them not to touch the animals as they are wild. They forgot to tell the lemurs, yesterday someone in a wheelchair had one on her lap, and they will often go onto your shoulder to get closer to the food.

The ringtails are my favorites.

At most zoos, you are not allowed to get that close to the animals, so I shoot lemurs at about 400mm.

The Ring Tails are great. I remember them from when I was a kid and used to watch Animal Magic with Jonny Morris ;) Was that your 24-70 L? Very nice quality.

condyk asked

No it was the 50 1.4, do not use it so much as I find it a bit hit and miss.
Took two bodies to the zoo 20D/100-400 & 350D/50, wanted to try the 50, but some shots poor with sun at funny angle, which I do not get with the L's, may have to invest in a lens hood.
