3D or Cube look in photoshop

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has seen the new Blackeyed Peas videos where they transform the people into lots of small cubes, can still tell who it is, almost like heavy block pixelation but wondering if anyone knew how to create the effect?

It's called "the time"(the dirtybit).....

Looks like an Extrusion effect of some kind that's mapped onto the outline of the person.

How about a rubiks cube ?

nps, i watched the vid on youtube, then did a very quick search on Google, took less than 20 seconds to find the information

Its from a photoshop action, no 3D needed.

Care to elaborate squashed? Like to hear it...

It's a little more complex for moving video but (as I said above) you can get a very similar effect for a still with the "Extrusion" filter in PS.
