Contract when hired by make-up artist?

This might be a simple question that I'm overthinking, but I figured I'd throw it out into the interweb and see what comes back.

I was approached by a MUA needing to build her portfolio. She has a date for the shoot this weekend and has five models with 2-3 looks each.

I have several contracts and releases written up for my normal work, i.e. weddings, portraits, etc. However, I'm not sure what I need in this scenario, if anything at all.

Typically, I have clients sign my contracts via .pdf on the iPad then mail a copy over to them so if I need to write up a new contract, I need to do it a bit fast.

In this scenario, do I need individual releases from each model as well as some kind of written agreement between the MUA and myself?

I'd really appreciate any tips! Thanks!

I make it a standard practice to get a release no matter what the situation. If you end up not needing them, big deal, it was 30 seconds before a shoot..... However if you dont get it signed, and 3 weeks later find out that in fact you do need them.... now it could be an entire day spent just to get a signature. And, you may have just blown your reputation as a "reliable" shooter.

The MUA is just another client. There is really nothing special going on here other than it is somebody you work with now and then. It is up to you as to the money angle, but as far as contracts I would treat it as any other client. It could be, that you assume she is a friend, and would never violate the trust. At the same time, she is assumeing you are a friend and therefore would not mind anything she does with the images. So get it all in writing.

This is not a friend. She contacted me after seeing my advertising in a magazine. Even with friends, I get releases. My thoughts are that the more I can do to protect the reputation of my business, and by association, protect my behind, the better. I agree, it only takes a moment pre-shoot rather than a headache down the road. :)

I was just wondering how to treat this release since my client is not the model. I couldn't find a template or sample out there that related to what I need, or perhaps I wasn't using the proper keywords.
