Isn't it amazing to think that those fuses are a bit scary today, but were state of the art 70 years ago?

Working in the aviation industry I wonder just how much of these warbirds are original. Obviously Texans never sar war but how many actual warbirds that saw action are close to original?

All the FAA requires is the data plate and "some" of the original airplane. I guess I'll leave it to your imagination. ;)

As an example of the above, the P-51 Wee Willy has the data plate from the air racing P-51 the Red Baron, or RB-51 as race fans know it. RB-51 crashed in 1979, Wee Willy does not have a single piece of RB-51 on it other than the data plate to my knowledge.
