I have the Canon 58mm adapter and it is slightly wobbly, is it true that the Lensmate is not wobbly at all?

Just ordered the lensmate 52 & 58, waiting for them to come thru!!!!!

I have the two sizes for the G3 and have seen the model for the G2.

All are of amazing quality. They put the canon model to shame. You will be very happy with the purchase.

I have the 52mm one and it's a very snug fit with no wobbling at all. What I wonder about is whether the Canon adapter was made in plastic on purpose to absorb shock a little better compared to aluminum in case the camera was dropped.

I have the Lensmate and the Kenko 52mm and they are both solid. The Lensmate is tighter than the Kenko (I almost couldn't get it off the first time I put it on and started to freak out, but I'm better at guiding the threads now). The Kenko is good too, definitely fits well

Geethree,

Mark a dot on your Kenko adapter with a marker, that will help to guide you to align it with the dot on the G3 body.

Hi getg3,

Sorry my message was confusing: I had trouble with the Lensmate, which was a bit tight and to solve the issue, that's exactly what I did. I'm not sure if the threads on the Lensmate adapter were all the same length, but it seem to go on easier in one position, so I just put a little dot there to help me find it.

The Kenko came with it's own indention to help placement.

Thanks!

I have a G3 as well and I have been interested in getting a lens to improve my optical zoom. I love the G3 however the 4x zoom needs help.

According to many of you it seems that Lensmate is the way to go for adapters...however what about telephoto lenses and uv filters to accompany the lens?

For telephoto lenses there are only 3 safe choices as far as I know:
Canon TC-DC58N 1.75x
Tiffen Megaplus 2X
Kenko KNT-20.
For UV filters - B+W MRC if you want top quality, and Hoyas are also very good for the price.

My converters arrived today and it was a snug fit!!! but the only down thing was my Canon Wide andle lens + Polarizer lens(Hoya, 58mm) on the converters had some vignetting!! I rememebered reading somewhere in this forum that converter(58mm) > polarizer(58mm) > Canon Wide lens, will not have any vignetting!!! but it did!!!!!!!!! Anyone have any really good true advice?
