Anyone in phx have a 17-55 2.8 IS lens? I ask because I think I am leaning on getting one, but id like to actually see through it on a camera. I have a 7D and only two lenses, the 28-135 kit and a nifty 50. Both are “great” but its time to upgrade. The kit lens does well, but its not as sharp as the 50. The 50 is great, but I find myself moving 10-15 feet back in order to get the shot I am wanting.

There is a place on Thomas or mcdowell and like 40 street that rents lenses, but its like the full price of the lens and then actual rental fees. I am fine with renting one if needed, just didn’t know if there was another fellow photographer who was in the area and wouldn’t mind getting together.

There is a really big car show coming up in feb and I am trying to decide which lens I want to purchase to do what I am looking for.

Thanks

-james

James.... http://www.lensrentals.com (external link) great service IMO and you do not have to put the price of the lens down to rent it.
