PacAce, not sure but on my keyboard it's Alt... it might be the option key I'm talking about on an english keyboard. If you use Mac OS X, go into the system preferences, Internetional and in the third choice (button/tab) you can select to get the keyboard layout so it shows up in the menu on your desktop or other software, it should show all the hidden key-combinations as well.

KEVNJ - has it right. Character map will give you codes for the PC - as you change fonts, some characters will change also. Use unisource mode.

Also have your "Numlock" on.

Alt+0216 = Ø
Alt+0176 = ° (degree symbol)
Alt+0177 = ±
