Hi, just trying to learn masking in PS CS5, I joined Lynda.com and downloaded some tutorials.....watching one of the videos about selective colour with the quick select tool....once I have made my selection the video goes...
Image -- Adjustments -- Hue and Saturation....

However when I go Image-Adjustment on my computer, hue and saturation are not available as choices, they are there but not clickable along with most of the other options in the drop down menu...only about 40% are clickable...any ideas why anyone?

Ta
Phil

You'll likely need to change from 16 bit to 8 bits. Image->Mode, I believe.

You've probably got the mask itself selected. Click on the layer thumbnail & not the mask thumbnail and it should be available.

Most of the time, especially in PS.;) I think in 16bit the only one not available in Image/Adjustments is Variations.

32bit only has a few available.

Ah well, good to get the answer! I was thinking back to the "old days" when 16 bit stuff was pretty limited, don't have CS5, so just taking a wild guess. But it definitely makes sense that a mask wouldn't have Hue/Saturation adjustments available!

16 bit is still pretty limited in the filters.
