Windansea Surf 1-28-11

Here's a few from Friday at Windansea. I was tempted to go out and surf but my arms were pretty soar from surfing 7 consecutive days. What I'm learning is that the time of day (direction of light from sun) really matters and that I'm having to shift around depending on lighting conditions.

All pictures were taken from a 1D MK II and a 100-400mm.

The challenge in my surfing shots has always been to find the light. It doesn't help that I mostly shoot after work when everything is practically backlit. Looks like you've nailed the lighting down in this set. I really like the two barrel shots with the surfer in silhouette. You got some real good action, too.
