I had a couple of questions about the software that came with my T2i.
I've been taking photos in RAW format.
I seem to remember reading on this forum that the changes you make to your photos in the DPP aren't saved on the photo. Is this correct?
I did some work on a couple of photos this evening and used the sharpening tool in DPP and then saved them as a JPEG. Well, when I opened them they weren't as sharp anymore. I know there is some IQ destruction when saving to JPEG, but they looked like I hadn't worked with them at all. Should I have saved them in TIFF? Would this have resulted in less IQ destruction (i.e. sharper images)?
Also, we go online to print photos (Walgreens), can they utilize TIFF or does it have to be JPEG?
So basically to sum it up:
-Are changes applied in DPP kept when you save a photo?
-Are my problems from saving in JPEG vs. TIFF?
-Can places like Walgreens use TIFF files?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Randall
