I will be going to Acadia National Park in a couple weeks and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I've been doing a lot of research since I only have about 48 hours in the park, but I'm always willing to listen to one more tip...

From what my research shows, though, I really need 2 weeks, not 2 days.
:-(
Maybe next year.

Isn't that always the way. I looked this up on the net and looks like a pretty cool place. Have fun and make sure that you get lots to share with us.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

I'm going in fall foliage season in what looks to be one of the prettiest places on the planet to see fall foliage. I'm afraid my eyeballs are going to fall out or something.

As long as I don't screw up every shot I will certainly be sharing.

Make sure you shoot in B&W mode, that way my fall photos will be better than yours :p

No real suggestions other than have a great 48 hours and bring back some wonderful photos.

I'll sneek some of those German "B&W" filters on to all his lenses when he's not looking... ;)

I'm actually going at the end of the week, the 6th - 8th. Will you be there then or are you just doing a weekend?

Depends on two things - my shooting schedule (which could change at any moment) and my girlfriend's schedule, which prefers the 1st-4th, but could realistically happen any weekend. So is the foliage happening that early in Acadia?

Peak is supposed to be a week later, so the colos should be good but maybe not great. I had to take that week for vacation though, so I'm doing Acadia as late as possible. Let's hope that it's good enough...

I guess we may have some friendly competition on these boards yet (I hope things work out and I do go after all).

Well, I'm off in a few minutes... Yeah, Fri & Sat are supposed to be rainy, but I'm locked into the hotel and timing for vacation, so I'm leaving in a few minutes. I went to bed at 6:00 PM, got 6 hours sleep and I hope to make Cadillac Mt by sunrise...

I programmed 73 possible shot locations into my brand new GPS and I've got all my maps with locations marked just in case the GPS fails me. If I allow 2.6 minutes per location and drive the Loop Road at 87mph I can just make them all...

From all my research I've determined that 4 days is the absolute minimum for Acadia, and only if you never go more than 100 yards from the car. Otherwise it's more like 1.5 weeks. I will be lucky to have 15 sunny hours. Wish me luck...
