Alright the shot on the left is the "final" image. I say it like that because I have literally had 5 "final" images and then later see something wrong with the color and stuff. Image on the right is where it came from. How do they compare and how does the hair look specifically? Also, does the skin look too warm? She has a really nice natural tan but lost it in the images because my dumbass forgot the expodisc.

Left is quite yellow greenish, right is blue?

Agree it's difficult to get back the correct color when you lose it! Very frustrating. Especially when there's no such thing as 'neutral gray' anywhere in the shots. I would agree with Flo that the left has a bit of greenish tint to her hair and the right a bluish or even magenta tint I see in her face.

Either way, she's still easy to look at! ;)

Agree with above on the hair. Don't really care for it as there is no reason for it. Skin tone seems odd in both. I say odd because neither is appealing, to me.

There is too much green in the hair and cyan in the eyes in both images.
Working on the RIGHT (original) image for editing I desaturated both green & cyan.
And put some light in her eyes. Sorry about the tan. Don't know how to recover that without a lot of masking and painting.
edit: the editing was done on both images since they are in the same frame but using the right image as the target.

i'm not crazy about either one. these tones are hard to work with, i can tell.

i get a few photo's like these where no matter what I do with them, i'm not crazy about any of the tones i use.

i'll either go B&W or just settle on something else....

Shoot in Raw, shoot in manual, and shoot a gray card first. You will never have another color balance problem again, (assuming you are using daylight, flash or reflected sunshine.)

parked illegally, pulled off the road, forgot my expodisc in a hurry. I'd rather shoot in av.

on my monitor the colors looks so close other then the skin tones that I had to laugh when you said you already did 5 other edits...heh
To me there isnt much of a difference to say you even did an edit.

I hope you see the funny side of that...I'm not wanting to come off mean or that I know it all...cause I'm not mean..and don't know it all...but I have opinions I like to toss back and forth.

I tried a couple of different things such as experimenting with hue and saturation around the hair.
The skin and face I went over with a darkening brush..and then went back to lightne just slightly the eyes.
I also adjusted the contrast down abit to take off the harshnish I see.
oh and I did a very small noise remover just to soften it a bit.

but this is my idea of it...my edit is on the right side.

It's most noticeable on HER Right elbow. The greenish tint.

looking at it again...does she have red streaks in her hair?

IMAGE: http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z121/goldeneve/not%20my%20stuff%20but%20edited/img3732doublewebedit2.jpg

Again my edit is on the right. This one I did what I did before..but with more saturation on her hair...I also sharpened her eyes..and darkend her lips and did asharpen on them as well.

oh and I cloned out the off color shadow on her elbow that was mentioned.

fun stuff

In OP's attempt, I also noticed that her jeans in the left 'final' image are purplish compared to the jeans on the original.

My monitor must not be calibrated right...I dont see the difference in the jean color on the OP's image.
Bummer I thought I was calibrated pretty well.

PS I would also warm up my edit....seeing it in daylight it looks washed out...anyway......lol....over and out

I feel your pain. I'm the same. An image is subjective and one taste or opinion is always gonna be differant to another. so if it feels right go with the flow. There is no "right" or "wrong"

Thats my 50 cent anyway.
