Two from 1-29-11 at Lock and Dam 14. The first photo is unique, for me anyway. The eagle landed and sat on the log for a few minutes. It then stepped off of the log and sat in the water. It sat, semi-submerged, for 20 seconds or so and then flew off, apparently refreshed.
I thought the color on this juvenile was a little different. It struck me as almost hawk-like in the shading.

I have now been to L&D 14 twice for a total of 4 days. It was cloudy all 4 and snowed on 2 of them. I was told the sun does shine in Le Claire just not when I'm there.:)

Great captures Ed ,I love the fishing shots . That sand bar there is very shallow , I am presuming the bird was standing in the water as you can walk out on it between ankles and knees deep , hence the reason that tree is grounded there.
