Ah...Ok. thanks. I think I'd just buy a used Canon 70-200 for the same money.
That's a valid option, but one that gives you no warranty vs a 4 year one on the Sigma.

They are dropping MSRP from $1699 to $1399. Anyone think $300 will make the difference? http://www.dpreview.com …sigma70200mmpricedrop.asp price already effective at some places. Love the logic. I bought one yesterday for £750 brand new in the UK. I'll let you know what I think of it. Having tried the non OS version I'm hoping it will be good. The one I tried was very nice indeed, but then I've never used the Canon, probably never will as I won't be able to afford/justify it. Will Hi Will, Paul.

Wayne I have the Sigma 70-200 2.8 Non OS version and its a great lens. MAybe I just got a good copy? I have used the Canon IS version and as far as image quality goes, zero difference, especially wide open. Best $750 I spend. Gear List

I just recently got this lens. Taken some test shots with it on my 40D and its real crisp. I have also tested the Canon 70-200 IS II on my 40D and they are very close in comparison. For the price difference its worth it. I would love to have the Canon because it’s a Canon but in today’s economy its just not feasible for me. + It gives me an additional $1000 bucks I can put towards a 5D Mark III when it comes out!!
