Just wanted to give their customer service some praise...
I ordered the holiday lighting kit from amazon that was on close out...basically 3 strobelites, a couple umbrellas and some small stuff..
Anyway, one of the strobes had the umbrella mount broken off when I received it.
There was a card in the package instructing to call westcott with any problems so thats what I did.
I talked to a nice lady names Amanda and she emailed me all the information I need as well as a ups shipping label.
Being in a hurry I shipped it out without the return number or even my return address.
I emailed her again to tell her I was an idiot..less than two weeks I had my strobe back in my hands.
Thats the kind of customer service that will keep me.

It sounds like Amanda is a capable person, not one to lazily hide behind "policy".

Good to know!

No bragging list - I just rent whatever the job requires.

got mine from B&H. same thing. the umbrella hole with the screw to tighten was broken off. they would not send me a prepaid shipping label. sent it to B&H and they are taking care of it, shipping and all. i was worried since i did as the paper said and contacted wescott. it took four days to know they would not pay shipping. i called B&H, after their 2 day policy, and they were great. glad at least someone is reasonable at wescott.

Same thing was broken on mine, after the first email in which she sent me an authorization number I emailed her back and asked if I would have to pay shipping, few minutes later I had an email with a paid ups label. Guess it just depends on the person.

well B&H took care of it so im happy. with them at least. i think mine was the middle light in the box. wonder if it has to do with how it is packed. they seem to be well molded and they arent cheap hollow plastic.

My light was on the end, even though the box was pretty beat up it seemed like it was already broken from something else. Not sure how dropping the box could have hurt that part. Then again the box wasn't even taped shut when I got it.
