Photoshop to Color Correct-grade video?

Hi
Is anyone using Photoshop to Color Correct-grade video? I don't own FCP and only have the regular version of CS4, not the extended, so I am limited to importing video as frames to layers and creating an action that applies curves to a specific layer and saves out the layer as images. Not very efficient. Being able to open as a filmstrip is the way to go.
