It actually costs a LOT more than $250.

The photo showing the 35-80mm EF lens mounted to the OWLE Bubo does not work:

All the pieces I ordered have come in and its time to put them altogether!

I used the following:
Owle Bubo as a housing
37mm filter with the glass removed
37mm-58mm step-up ring
Canon EF mount adapter ring
35mm Canon lens

While all the part fit to make a decent looking iPhone DSLR, the results of the configuration are completely useless.

There are two major problems here:
1) The iPhone camera is unable to focus on the image projected by the Canon lense since the camera is too close.
2) The image projected from the lens is not large enough to take up the whole angle of view. As such, the majority of the photo is black.

How naive I was to think that snapping all these pieces together would just work. I’m beginning to realize this is getting way over my head. More research is necessary to determine solutions to these problems.

This is what you really need:

1) iPhone
2) OWLE Bubo
3) EnCinema 35mm adapter
4) +10 37mm Macro Closeup filter A
5) +10 37mm Macro Closeup filter B
6) SLR camera lens
