these type of threads are useless.

along with "show us your gear"
nobody reads them anyways.

I disagree. Sure, for all you old salts, you've seen it before. But new people come on this forum every day and are just beginning to learn this stuff.

Depends on the circumstances, but it could range anywhere from none to a few hundred. I'm not a professional.

Thanks for the responses. I just barely finished going through the first trip I made to Death Valley this year. I have another 50GB to go through from the second. I see I'm not alone in making lots of new data when shooting.

36. I pretend I have a roll of film in the camera. Sometimes I luck out an get a few extra exposures on some rolls.

One day at a race track - 1650 pictures.
Around 80 I felt like showing to others.

5% keeper rate? What type of racing? I usually shoot 225-300 per game (football, basketball or volleyball match)

It depends on what and how I'm shooting. Shooting at an air show will usually be the highest (1200) and drag racing or birds in flight are around 800 to 900. Now, most of these are multiple shots so the quantity gets pared down pretty quickly by 50% to 60% before I really shart PP.

Static shots like cars events, people events or landscapes are much, much less (100 - 200) with an 80-90% initial keep rate.

For me a slow day is about 10-20, and a very busy day about 300.

My keeper rate is literally about 1%.

Thank you. bw!

At one of the typical double header roller derby bouts I shoot, I'll have anywhere from 1200-1600 images by the end of the night. From that, I'll take away 150-200 or so excellent ones for post processing, and another 400 for saving in the archives for possible future use.
