In NY, we have had a great snow winter. Tons of snow, and I mean tons of snow.

We are in for a really wicked storm tomorrow and the next day (Tuesday and Wednesday). I am going to wait for this storm before I add to this thread. I did take some interesting snow photos 2 days ago though.

just a few of my thoughts...

Yeah, the snow is suppose to be coming tomorrow. (WNY) I don't know though-could be alot of hype. I've been itching to get out and take some shots but at 7 degrees, I'm more tempted to stay in near the fire. lol

Not to repost all the photos again, pointless, but I did put up a thread a few weeks ago of the snowstorm that kept Boston virtually empty during the rush hour lunch time:

Mike... you mustn't get very severe winters there ... the boats are still in the water !!!! We get ours out and covered in October or the ice will smash them up !!

Great photos.... too cold here right now, and we're supposed to be on the outer edges of "snowpocalypse", so I don't know what I'll be able to come up with.

When shooting in the snow like this is there a way you people keep the snow off of your camera? This winter I wanted to go shoot in the snow but i was unsure (snowing pretty hard) because i didn't want to get water/snow on the lens and stuff.

@ Mike: Very Nice! Remove the car through the arch and the overhead wire in #3 and it would be nearly timeless...

The day after... we are working on a good one right now, but I am not going out in minus 30 weather for photos.

I don't worry about it that much. The camera gets cold fairly quickly and the snow doesn't melt on it until you go inside. I just don't let it build up much and try and protect it from driving snow by hiding it with my body. I brush all the snow off before I go in and then wipe it down quickly. I use a lens hood to help keep the snow from sticking to the front lens element.

Snowmageddon II has just arrived here. Should be some good sights to see in the morning. I have a ton of pictures from Snowmageddon I, but I'll put them up later.
