With some recent issues on my 3rd party lenses, I am looking to make some moves:

Sigma 24-70 Macro - focus ring grinding. Local shop said send it to Sigma. I will not be covered so I can get an estimate for free. I currently have a chance to trade my 135L for a 24-70L (both same date codes). OUT OF POCKET: $0

Sigma 50mm - focus issues. Got a receipt from the seller I picked this up from back in November, so I can have this one calibrated, or at least sell it with proof of purchase at a discount. Trade/Replace with Canon variant. Either way, OUT OF POCKET : $0

Tokina 12-24: Communication error message:clean contacts - Sell at discount and get EF-S 10-22. OUT OF POCKET: $350-$400.

This leaves me with ALL Canon lenses (or worst case a calibrated Sigmalux), not to mention an L walkaround/general purpose lens - the 24-70 was my most used lens.

Thoughts?

Sure, why not. ;-)a

I mean, I don't see anything wrong with that plan assuming you can do as you say and that those lens suffice for your needs, then... sure, why not!

As much as I love the sharpness of the 135L I cannot afford a 24-70L outright ATM. This is a chance to have a great general purpose lens.

I really like the Sigmalux, and as long as it is calibrated I would be willing to keep it.

I think I might just move forward with the 135L trade...

The idea of selling a 135L for a 24-70L kinda makes me sad.

On the other hand, the idea of selling one or more Sigma lenses makes me happy, so I am not sure how to feel about this whole thing. :D

On a serious note, do whatever works for you. As long as they aren't bad deals you can always decide to change it up again in the future without too much difficulty or money lost.
