interesting contrasts: life and death, dry and wet, large and small, black and white...
excellent exposure, great color, I just wish the DOF kept the bug in focus. My eye tends to go there, but its the front edges of the rose pedals that are sharp. 7/10

7/10 - skin tones look very nice, pretty model and I probably would have cropped a bit more and not show the chest but I admit, portraits are not my specialty! I bet she was pleased with this shot! Nice catch lights, too!

A gum wall that is quite famous in San Luis Obispo, CA.....I couldn't resist shooting it!

7/10. Its too hard to tell what it is. If you're going for abstract, I think a tighter frame would have helped.

A very well taken and worked up shot. I think it would have a nicer feel if the door was cloned out, plus the dark rooftop on the top left. 8-10

One of the many lakes in Glacier national park Montana.

very nice natural colors and composition. 8/10 I would have gotten away from the green bush bottom right. I like the trees, just not the bush.

9/10 - I really love the clarity and sharpness of this one. The emptiness of the room and the light on the wall really leads the eye to the cinder block, and it's easy to imagine a specter of some sort taking a break there...

7/10. First post ever here. The backpack sticks out, not sure in a good way and the right side of the pants are just a little hot. Overall good, but not that interesting unless you know the subject. Try it B/W.

Trying to embed my photo from facebook. Anyone know if I can?

My eyes are drawn to the subject's eye...makes me wonder what it's looking at. There's a lot of personality in that capture. Exposure, DOF, comp...all very good. I wish I could see more of "the story" so I didn't have to guess. 8/10

10 - Brilliant!!! Love the color and the clarity and, most of all, the composition! Nice framing, too!

Trying hard with portraits so any suggestions would be appreciated.

8/10. I really like the expression. Maybe a young Derek Zoolander? I also like the off angle tilt since it works well with the kids expression.

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

I like the over saturation and the stark contrasts. I do find the meeting of the sky and the land a bit jarring as though they are from two seperate pics (which they might be ;) ) still I like it. 7/10
