Is this Kal Penn, or a freakishly close doppelganger?! Anyway nice sharp capture, nice DOF. It looks like he's leading a rally or something, personally I would have liked to see more of the environment. 7/10

I was going for a faded look in post but frankly I don't know how to do it. Anyone wanna PM me a tutorial or walk me through it, I'd appreciate it!

If you mean the misty kind of tint on the picture, I generally go to photoshop - Image - Adjustment - Exposure, Play with offset. I don't know the proper way myself. Would love if someone can share.

In RAW, you can change the high clipping limit. In DPP this would be in the histogram, pulling the line on the right to the left. In LR4, it would be changing the values of highlights and whites in the Tone Curve panel.

I'll have to give the offset a go. I just used DPP and brought the bottom most line up a wee bit which I believe lessens the mid-tone contrast, but I'm not sure lol. Here's a re-post of the picture since it was never critiqued.

^ I would have taken the pipe on the side out, and maybe altered the colors a bit. 7/10

4/10 Nothing more than a snapshot for me. Also seems you may have missed focus...the whole images seems soft.

Actually you can move the highlight end of the histogram to the left in LR as well.

Cool, I hadn't grabbed there yet -- still learning all the ins and outs of those features.

Cool idea, well exposed and processed. Would prefer a slightly wider crop, but that's being picky. 8/10

Like that capture lot. It really looks like the subject is the last man on Earth....taking pics! Love the composition. I would clone out the light pole to fit better into the wasteland theme, 9/10 IMO.

I like it, but think the DoF is too shallow, or perhaps in the wrong place. The only sharp bit being the reflector. Like the processing, the tones. But I think the wheel would be the focus... 7/10

Love the subject here, lot of respect for our armed servicemen and women--both fallen and alive. As for the picture, I'm led from one end of the frame to another and both the angle and the DoF makes me imagine how much longer this wall goes on than just what we can see in this one shot. I do wish I could make out the reflection, maybe there was something to be seen in it that could have added to the image? Well done, 9/10

@ the Kayak and rock It's sort of a 3/10 for me.

Had to look hard for a moment to see what I was looking at altogether. It's a pretty tiny speck of a water craft.

Actually, had that been a bigger boat and the processing different, it could leap to a fast 7 or 8. I think the smallness of the boat is the weak link, and one you can't really do anything about.

***************
EDIT > posted simultaneous with last person. Will include rating on the flowers and lake for a 4/10. Sort of faded looking for me. It's like the some okay stuff, just not enough of one or the other.

From yesterday ...
