A very creative shot and an interesting composition, the graceful curve of the bridge softens the hard stark steel. Would have been nice to have a plane in the sky, I would map out the 2 poles on the right and the car and that random blue dot under it.
8-5-10

7/10

I like the bokeh, and how he his so definitely the subject of the photo. You did good on the crop and the exposure...black animals are not easy to expose. I would have given it a higher score, but the pose is not super exciting for me, nor is that kind of bird. That is probably unfair of me, thought, since I'm not big into birds. Maybe an 8/10 would be more fair.

And I'll follow up with my first and only bird photo. Taken through a mesh enclosure at the San Diego Wild Animal Park:

Thanks for the input. I can see your point on the tilt shift effect, and I agree, it is a little much. As for the background getting out of focus, is that something that can be done in post? If so, how exactly? Or is it completely a matter of DOF at the time of taking the picture. Unfortunately, I was a little constrained shooting into the sun like that. Thanks

The tilt shift effect is really awkward for this photo since it just seems strange that only part of the bench and foreground/background is out of focus.. it just detracts too much imo from the image. I would rather have liked to see thebackground start getting out of focus.

I do like the muted colors and The converging lines and composition are really nice.

While I am here, that eagle is fantastic! The focus on the eye is great stuff, also good bokeh. 8/10 only detracting for shooting through mesh which is just slightly apparent to my eye.

Here's another, just an interesting structure near me.

Thanks for the compliment on the Eagle photo Mike! And one right back at you... I'll give this a 9/10. You nailed the lighting and composition. Industrial arcitecture has never really been my thing, but you did outstanding on this one.

Here is a Belgian Malinois photo I took at training this morning (you can never have too many Malinois pics:lol:). K9 "Layko":

Jedi - I like the subject, but the shadows and OOF areas seem a little distracting. I can't keep my eyes focused on the dog because of the background and the dog's face is a little dark. Overall, 6/10.

I like the sky and the blue water the best, I think if you could punch the contrast a little more and bring out some of the colours there, it would really be something. Overall the tones are a little flat and slightly underexposed to me. I would clone out the tripod leg on the bottom corner. I'm not sure exactly what your subject is - if it was meant to be a landscape beach shot then I would have waited for the person and dog to get out of the shot, or taken it sooner while she was closer in the frame. Overall, 6/10

A little turtle my horse almost stepped on. Sorry for the watermark, didn't feel like uploading a clean version to flickr :p

6/10 The main subject looks decently exposed and sharp on the other hand, the hands are too much overexposed.

8/10 good shot, I like the shallow dof and boceh, it really separates the horse from the background and makes the shot.

8/10 the composition of the photo is good but i feel like the wrong part of the photo is in focus, but that is just my own opinion.

Oh, I love that car and I love this shot! I'd like it better a little bit more exposed though.

That sir is a well taken shot of a beautiful lady, the sharp face and a soft foreground give it punch, I would prefer a looser crop but a solid 9-10 for this one.
