No no no haha you weren't mean

"get a new perspective" exactly

I cant quite put my finger on it but your comment really just made me laugh. Its like you think you made not a perfect but really nice image but someone always sees the flaw immediately and can knock you down.

Point to stress: I am a firm believer in staying humble and the necessity for critiques so I dont see being knocked down as a bad thing at all.

only downside (and it is a very small one) is that the crop may be a bit too tight. I'd like to see the whole dress. It is a beautiful image, and the light is very good too. Really liking the hair and the pose. 9/10

Nice colors. My eyes are drawn right to the subject, but there's still an interesting background, which is slightly less lit; helps him stand out even more. 9/10

Just curious: did you ask him if you could take his picture, or just do it? Wondering what he was thinking, if the latter ;-)a

Nice job Moose. I would do an 8/10. I can't wait until next year and I make my trip out west.
Here is a shot from a few years ago. I'm posting through my phone so I hope it uploads right.

There's a lot I like about this photo - the colors and natural elements are all nice. I feel like this would be a lot stronger image with the bottom 1/4-1/3 cropped out. The low curb and box/building on the lower right distract from your photo. 7/10

Nice! Is it legal to drive with no plates?

I like it, maybe I wouldn't have done such a dramatic vignetting and maybe I would have added a bit more detail on the shadows (rims and front of the car), but overall a very nice photo of a car nicer than mine :-D

7.5/10

A photo of street life in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba (note: the car in the photo is a bit older than the one from the post above mine)

I think the previous photo is deserving of more than a 5/10.. imo

Cute subject, but a bit too over processed for me. I think you saturated for the dramatic garment but the child's skin rendering took a hit.

6/10

I didn't critique another's, just pointing out a general observation. Yes critique is part personal taste but there's also some points in photography many people can agree on. Otherwise street photography wouldn't be considered a kind of photography. Go ahead and delete yours, if it's really that upsetting..

Wow, this got a bit out of hand! Thanks to both of you for your feedback. I can understand the 5/10 on my photo and I accept it wholeheartedly. I was going for many things happening at once in the photo, so if somebody is not keen on that, they are perfectly able to criticise it. Let's not get carried on and let's keep focus in continuing this great thread!

Critique is the only way to learn and improve!

[QUOTE=cubatahavana;17907479]Nice! Is it legal to drive with no plates? :lol:QUOTE]

Thanks for the feedback, I agree with you on the dark details. Yes, it has a rear plate and in Tennessee (USA) it is legal to drive with only a rear plate :-D.
