Hi all,

I've searched the net trying to find some real life experience of the Primus Minimus AW bag by Lowepro and can't find much info about it.

I want to know if my 70-200mm F4 L lens will fit in the bag whilst it is mounted to my 60D?? I understand removing it from the side door might be a bit tricky, but I can live with that.

I like the idea of the minimus vs the bigger primus AW due to my being a woman with a smaller frame. As long as I can put my 50mm 1.4 and the 17-85mm IS in there as well I'll be a happy woman! I do alot of hiking and don't want a huge bag on my back. I also don't want a bag where i have to take it off and sit it in the dirt/mud to get the camera out. Fussy aren't I? ;);)

Thanks in advance for any info anyone can give me :D

Hi, yes all the lens you mentionned (including the 70-200mm F4 L mounted) will fit. It might be a tight fit however.

In my Primus minimus, I'm carrying a 60D, 70-200mm F4 L IS, 100mm F2.8 L macro, 15-85mm F3.5-5.6.

I use this bag mostly when hicking in tropical rainforest. This bag provides good support and protection for your photo equipment + personnal gear in the top compartment. The side door is something every hicking backpack should have....to be able to quickly have your gear in hand and shoot a passing by monkey or bird is amazing.

The issue with the minimus is not the internal space, it is the side acess. It is sized to let Rebel class of body with lens attached coming in & out. Anything bigger will likely to get caught when you try to "quick access". Other than that, I think it is a good backpack for short hike, very comfortable

You're welcome!
It's a great forum because of it's great participants, and moderators too.

I keep coming back because I have lots to learn here, and the photos I see are an inspiration.

Best,

Dave

Thanks for the comments. I think the best thing for me is to take the 60D with the lens mounted and see if I can try one out here.

Choosing a bag is harder than deciding which camera body to buy!

I have the bag, not very hard taking my 40d wiu 10-22mm out on a snap. It's very comfortable because of all the support built into the pack but the just my humble opinion. I'm new to this great site.

Amanda welcome to the forum. As a bagaholic, I agree! It is hard to find the right bag.
