I am using a Mac Pro with a calibrated monitor. Perhaps I need a better computer.

Your current gear should suffice (but it could always be better!)

You should learn things like the rule of 3rds, post processing with things like Lightroom (and may I reccomend Topaz!), and shooting everything in Manual mode--everything.

Some cameras, some lenses, plenty of gaffer's tape and beer.

I have heard of this Lightroom. I use the Corel. Is the Lightroom better at nice pictures?

It's kinda like Corel, the biggest difference is you can use these things called "actions" and completely change the look of your pic without really knowing all that much about the boring editing stuff! You can download this thing called "Totally Rad" that has like 100 different professional actions, it's transformed all my facebook photos into artistic works!

WAIT!!! The original thread starter is a moderator????

Why does that matter, we shouldn't be scared to give C+C just because he's a mod

I took his comment to mean he expected better content from a moderator (i made this assumption though)

I have to agree with "MSI guy" that the topaz preset has pretty much overhauled the way I view my own work and the work of others. Though the price may seem a bit high, it's worth it in the end. You can't put a price on creativity.

Surprise!
While I appreciate a <bump> as much as the next guy, it should be noted that duplicate I.D.s aren't permitted in POTN. So consider this a friendly warning for if/when you come back in your other identity after your time-out. ;)

Thats my point. If you took the advice of other successful photographers on board instead of this bad attitude of blind refusal, maybe next time you go out you'll be closer to your target.

But as they say, practice makes perfect!

It's not blind refusal. It's the route I've chosen to take to get the image I see in my mind, & I'll post the failures along that route, just as everyone else does. I have no control over what tractors come along or when they do, so that just makes the process more interesting for me.

What? I'm not allowed? Maybe I'm just trying to fit in here? :D

Now I do think the pictures are a little dark, I can't find any of the tractors!

Semi trucks are also called tractors.

I don't know why that is, or why they're sometimes called "Semis", either. Sorry for the confusion.

This is good. Am I able to program it to the Microsoft speak type. I am not liking to touch the keyboard when I am not having to.

I am to be mentioning by the way. This pictures in here are reminding me of the hit Hollywood movie "Maximum Overdrive" with Emelio Estavez. He is very loved in our home for this movie and for Men at Work. Thank you for bringing me good memories.

I wish I could get them lined up like at the Dixie Boy truck stop so I wouldn't have to wait!
