I notice those that take raw pictures use like Adobe Photoshop CS5 or Adobe Lightroom 3 to do special effect. I was wondering what program(s) do you use to do it and where I can find tutorial websites which allow me to do special effects?

I personally use Aperture 3, some people use Lightroom 3 also. I have used both and they are both great. Use whatever that feel more comfortable to you. It's like Canon vs Nikon, they both are great cameras that make great images, so just use whatever that feel right to you and fits your needs better.

There's plenty of options and it comes down to personal preference and what you can afford. Start look through these sticky's

Photoshop, Aperture, and Lightroom are the three most commonly used editing software. All of them should have tutorials out to help you?

Is Aperture 3 for Mac only or is there a Windows version for it?

Mac only.

Tried LR3 but prefer the look/feel of Aperture. Chuck in some extra software like the Nik stuff and its amazing :)

LR3 with PS for tricky cases. LR3 is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge time saver and is all I need for 95% of photos.

Huge but manageable learning curve for any of them starting out.

Although if your like my 7 year old grand niece you'll take to it like a duck to water. Her hand may not be as steady sometimes but the little squirt knows where and how to use a great deal of it.
She will take a look when I am sorting and say, na trash that one it's OOF, she's right 90% of the time.

GIMP is also an option and it Is free.

It all depends on how much editing and how fast you want to go through it.
Until you have the programs you wish and a workflow, it will drive you crazy.
