Very nice to have been chosen..wish all the shots would of had some close ups in there, all the detail is lost due to the far away shots, would of loved to see some expressions on there face,so i can feel the images.

Being a police officer too i find this particularly upsetting.

Please tell me that they caught those responsible, or at least know who they are.

The suspect was in custody within hours and murder charges have been filed. Metro did a great job with this investigation.

Thanks for sharing. This is turning into a year of horrible tragedy for our fellow LEOs. May those who have fallen rest in peace knowing that others will take their place to keep our cities, towns and counties safe. My thoughts and prayers go to the fallen. You are to be congratulated on some excellent images under very sad conditions.

Tom,

First and foremost my heartfelt sympathy for you and your departments loss. January was a brutal month for police officers across this country. Every time I turned on the TV and heard of another officers killing/wounding I had to remind myself what country I live in.

You did a fantastic job covering the funeral. You and your department should be proud. You gave a brave warrior a fitting celebration of his life and selfless service to his community.

I have shot a few firefighter LODD's before and as a fireman understand what you went/are going through. It is a tremendous sense of conflict inside your head. You know what you are doing is the right thing. But want to also be with your brother and sister LEO's in this difficult time. You want to be the shoulder they lean on, and also could use one to lean on yourself.

The fact is Tom you have a talent, one that should be used in good times and sad. You are a brother, a fellow warrior. Not all may have said it, but I know they were happy you were there to document this event. They would rather have a fellow LEO provide this service than someone else. Not saying someone else could not do a good job, but it gives the department a sense of pride being able to take care of things "in house."

These images will become a HUGE part of the departments history. It NEEDS to be recorded and known. There will be remembrance of this tragic day for years to come and people will look back at these pictures to reflect on their feelings and emotions.

Lastly you and your brothers and sisters will find something positive from this. You will learn form this, and it turn use it so that it may prevent further incidents. His family is hurting now, tremendously. But, in the future be able to look back at these amazing pictures and beam with pride at the amazing courage their son had as a sworn police officer.

Godspeed Officer Moore. Your watch has ended. :(

I agree, the angle & height it was taken adds to experience. It conveys the relationship and closeness between the departed and his friends. The height of the shot brings a religious element too, the oversight of the chosen few!
