I am nearly ready to print out my business cards using www.gotprint.com (external link)

Here is the front/back of my design:

I've never made business cards before. Which is nicer? gloss coated cover with uv c2s or premium uncoated cover? The description I read made the former sound nicer, yet the latter is more expensive...

Also, I read somewhere that gloss coated things can not be written on, so I'd have to remove the "Note:" section on the back of my card if I went with that one...

Should I remove the Note: section from my card and print gloss coated, or pay $20 extra dollars to print premium uncoated?

Also, I'd really appreciate it if you told me if you see anything that will go wrong with my design or printing plans and ruin my batch of 10000 cards.

Thank you so much! Best Wishes!

My 2 cents ( I work in the industry)

I would stay with the 14 pt. Most times the UV coating will be applied to the front of the card only, and you can write on the back with a ballpoint pen. If you plan to UV coat both sides then writting on the back will be tougher.

Also in the industry...

I would go with the uncoated cover, and see if they can print UV on the front only. You will find it difficult / inconsistent to write on a C2S stock due to the coating. Ballpoint pens only help so much.

My concern about your design is the small point size you are using on the back. Depending on the print process being used, it's quite possible that will "fill" in - meaning the type will actually reduce in clarity.

Also depending on what process they use... I would be concerned that the black may not be printed as true black - but as process black instead. This is a combination of CMYK to achieve black. I would personally bring this to a local press printer and have this done specialty. The room for error in a large "batch" print shop is just too great for this type of card.

My opinion.

Also - $80.00 for an online card, printed 4/4 with bleeds on 14pt. Uncoated is extremely cheap. So perhaps give it a shot and see what happens.

I agree on the price for the uncoated. Also agree on taking it to a local printer.
