I just got off the phone with a service tech who informed me that they took a cursory look at my 7D and were not able to determine any problems, so they are sending it to Canon for repair on my behalf. He told me that the turn around has been about 2 weeks or so. I'm a little depressed that I'll be without my main camera for 2 weeks, but at least I have a back up. I got to give props to the store I bought the camera from (Stereo Advantage in Williamsville, NY) as they have treated me great from day 1. I'll post again when I get my camera back with more info...
