My dog and I got to within 10 feet of this guy before he quit eating long enough to notice us.

One of the nice things about squirrels is they almost always seem willing to pose. Sure are some good shots in this thread.

Found some babies in the yard. Apparently lost their mother. We raised them in the house in a modified large dog kennel.

Then they grew up and we let them loose. They would let us approach for several weeks after we released them but were pretty much wild after that.

Some very comical shots in this thread. Recently I have had a couple of Red Squirrels take up residence in my yard quite a distance from my timber. They must have smelled the Walnuts that I brought home and placed close to the house.
I began putting some nuts in the hollow log that is in the front yard but one of them has found my stash on the porch and is now helping himself if I don't put out more each day.

Here he is coming up on my porch where I have the nuts in a sack. If I don't leave the bag open he will make a new opening pretty fast.
