No, the background is just a piece of velvet I had handy.

I like it. The wrinkles in the velvet bother me a little, but the lemons suck me back in.

How do you keep the velvet so clean?
I almost bought some at the fabric store today but all the velvet samples were filthy. Ended up buying some plain, smooth flat black fabric instead.

I don't keep the velvet that clean, every little piece of fuzz shows, I simply clone them out.

I just removed a few wrinkles with the patch tool.

Revised version:

Gotchya.
The piece of black velvet (fabric, not drink ;-)a ) that I was looking at today was filthy, I could only imagine the time it would have taken for that much cleanup in PS.

Second version looks good.

I would also be interested in seeing this image with limes replacing the lemons and white replacing the blue.

Cool shot.
One possible change, the shadow going completely across the bottle is taking away from the expression of the shape of the bottle.

Where did you find the bottles/vases in all the same color like that shutter?
