Guys,

Having a blast with 550D Video function. No doubt about it..the quality of video of superior than my camcorder, Vixia HF200.

Question,

How do you get the Magic Lanter Focus to work?? I have Magic Lantern firmware loaded...but not sure how to get the focus assist to pop on the screen..

TIA

don't you just push the trashcan button to get the magic lantern menu to appear? I installed like a month ago and played with it. but went back to the vanilla canon firmware. I liked it, but at that time it really didn't have anything that I needed. I might try it out again some time.

Yes, that is true. But that's after it's been installed.

I like the over and under exposure stripes. Great information when while video'ing. I would love the red focus stripes...that would be epic. This would mean I would need to turn off "under exposure" zebra stripes since it also shows in red. What they should do is green zebra stipes for "focus."

Yeah...it's worth it. I can turn off the camera mic and only use the external mic... volumeter.. and a slew of other features.

And I can remove the firmware just as easy.

I've always wondered this about my 5DII. It seems the firmware that Magic Lantern is built on isn't the latest firmware for the 5DII. This cause any issues?

I'm really not sure if it's applicable in 5DMkii.... you may want to contact the Magic Lantern guys.
