I need to get some photos from Lightroom 3 to my Smugmug website. Does anyone know how to do this? I looked on the Smugmug help but that wasn't very helpful. I know you go under Publish Services, but Smugmug is not there as an option. The only two options are my hard drive and Flicker.

I use Jeffry Friedl's plug-in (google it). Works great. He has a similar one for Flickr, which I also use.I don't have LR on this computer, but I thought the newest version had something built in.

My LR3 has smugmug in the publish section. It is easy to set up. If yours doesn't, try running an upgrade on your LR3.

I read it's a buggy program and you are better off not uisng LR3 interface with SmugMug.

I haven't had any issues using the plugin mentioned above.

My understanding is the plug-in is different than the interface using LR.

Maybe I was not clear in my post.

Jeffry's plug-in is different than the LR interface.I trie dthe LR interface and maybe its just that I am used to JF's plug-in but I didnt care for the LR version. Cant even specificly remeber why but it seemed convoluted and complicated to me,where the other is straight forward and I have never had an issue with it.

Been using the LR3 interface since it was available. Never had any problems. I also like that you can sync Smugmug and your library.

+1 - this is an excellent plugin, almost a necessity if you use LR and Flickr/SmugMug etc. Makes it sooo much easier to upload, including image titles, descriptions etc - automatically adds them to collections/sets.

Don't know how it could be easier than the standard way. Just be sure when you drag and drop on the photo itself and not the border.

Can someone summarize what jeffry's plugin do that the built-in LR3 publish service cant? I tried to use it before but decided I'm better off with LR3's much simpler publish service.

It's somewhat complicated, especially at first. If you are willing to understand the differences, it maybe more than worth your effort. Start here (external link) (regex.info).
