Once you throw out the extreme (over $4K) mirror lenses the best ever made was the Canon S.S.C. 500/8 - easily convertted to EF mount. I have sold a few and wished I had kept one for myself. You would not believe how sharp it is even with a 1.4x TC or a 2x TC. Ok, funny bokeh if you don't control that and not for handholding! GEAR LIST
