So, hows the 24-105? Thinking of grabbing a used one ($800) and selling my 70-200 f4 non IS...

It is amazing on FF. Just wide enough and has some capabilities on the long end. The more I use it the more I love using it. It is very versatile and the IS can help you out in a pinch.

What do you guys suggest?

A 70-200 mm 2.8 or the 24-70 2.8?

Trying to decide if I should really go for the 2.8 version, I so rarely use the 70-200. And if I am rolling "normal" focal lengths I like to go wide open with a fifty...
Jeez, there is way to many lenses to choose between.

And gosh I got into the gear mode as soon as I stopped shooting, I have thought about selling every piece of my gear. Perhaps I should just quit **** and go out and shoot some awesome pics.

Then why not take the battery grip off? I have one for use when I need it, but it stays off most of the time as it makes the camera so damned bulky and heavy.

But I think you have the point on IS the wrong way around. With a heavy camera, properly held, it's EASIER to keep it steady than with a lighter one.

don't like the feel of cameras without them, have a problem with my wrist trying to press the button in portrait mode. I was also thinking of the 24-105 walk around and travel lens. Still undecided

Well, In my opinion, I wouldn't get the 2.8 version of the 70-200 if you don't use yours already and what are the perks of the 24-70? The 2.8? It feels like you should spend your money on a lens that is different then what you already have, or save the money!

Anybody here shoot photos anymore or do you just shoot the shlt? :)

Here's one, not on a 5Dc and not with the 24, 35, 50, 85 or 135L that you all love to talk about.

Wise advise, but saving money c'mon? We are photographers...

But yup, I will have to rethink my kit a bit. Heck might even sell of my cameras to fund a 5d Mk2.

Gotta love this hobby: i tell genzbenz last night that I've blown my gear budget and I'm done for a while...what do I do tonight? I buy a 135L.

Now I'm going to have a big gap between 50 and 135...oh well.
