yikes....so I'm 3 hours away from picking up my 5Dc.... ugh. nerves. This is only my 6th month of shooting, upgrading from a Rebel XS. But it's a good price ($1100, 6k actuations, all indoors for product photography). Anyways, glad to be joining into the FF club. Will try to get a photo up asap. Any pointers, etc?

The only pointer is to have fun with it. It might take a bit to get used to the new camera, but you will be pleased with the output.

Main bit of advice I can give you is don't shoot any test charts, just get out and shoot some photos! Make sure it's in Raw mode, familiarise yourself with the controls and have some fun.

PJ,
I love the first one (except her expression is a bit extreme perhaps). The second is good, but the pose allows the strong backlight to cut across her midsection drawing attention to the gathered portion of her pants.

Thx for the CC - much appreciated & much to benefit from on future shoots! :)

Well, I got it. I think the first picture should be of the crackers I'll be eating for the next few days while I wait for the coffers to fill back up ...lol

I went for a little walkabout and wow....my Tamron 17-35 is just HUGE now! Camera is in mint mint shape, couple flakes of paint off the hotshoe, but other than that it's had 5400 actuations, only left a dust controlled lab 2x. Never even shot handheld. Now I see what all the hubbub is about with FF. DOF is just beautiful, even on my less than expensive lenses. ...now....battery grip.... this is endless..

A.

Thanks :D
The only thing I would change is to not have the reflection so blown out, but it was damn bright so there wasn't much I could do.

The entire power grid went down yesterday, I couldn't reach my date cuz I was stuck on a train and missed the movie we were supposed to see. Then I got hold of her and she said she would call me, I spent five hours on a Irish pub looking miserable and after four beers came to the logical conclusion that she stood me up. Turns out the f-ing cellphone tower went out aswell and the grid was over its capacity meaning that I just got like 10 text messages... GAWD I am pissed off. Best part is that I left my camera(5d) at home... But I did end up in the newspaper sitting on a stranded train.

Went through three rolls of films last night whilst drunk, can't wait to see what the **** I shot. Must have been a funny sight seeing a drunk guy walking around doing long exposures with a tripod and t70 in the middle of the night.

Lots of old stuff but hey I am a student
