Icebat, that's awesome. One for the portfolio.

And kf, that train is great, too. Love those moody clouds overhead, and the hint of warm light. I'll bet it looks fantastic full screen.

Thanks Al! It looks OK on full screen. I applied some heavy PP on it. Need some smart sharpening for full screen.

I like it a lot, the focus is in the right place and portrait has some nice character in it. May be some strange bright effects at the area close to left eye. But I have strange monitor...

Indeed. However, NR itself doesn't take much work in PP, which was the original statement - how much work does it take exactly. The answer to which is almost none.

But yes, it is undoubtedly better to have a cleaner file to begin with.

Do you have a 7D?

Thank you. :) Yes there is a little bit of holoing effect going on, I think it may be because I shot it with a ring light, or possibily because the wall color wasn't completely even. I tried to darken some of the areas of the wall a little in post, but that bright spot was there sooc. It's actually the one thing that bothers me about the shot. I'm going to try to see if I can correct it at all in post, but I'm not very good at that kind of thing.

Nice set! I love that last one. Really like your street stuff. Keep it up. :)

Thanks, Ice. Stumbled onto this event and got a ton of great shots with the sig 85. One of those lucky breaks--shot about 300 shots in 20 minutes, and unusually high keeper rate...

One more

No... what gave you that impression?
In fact I am currently cameraless.

Man I miss autumn! One of the bad points of living in the tropics. Really nice, Dirk, especially that first one.

Ha, don't worry, autumn is great for a while, but eventually it gets too dark and wet to be enjoyable... and then comes winter, the worst season of them all.

Much cleaner file straight out of the camera. Less noise which means less work in post processing.

Can't say I agree, and I've had a 5D since they came out. Do remember that the cameras are of vastly different resolution.

5D & 7D (both gripped), 24-105L, 100-400L, 15-85, 50 f1.8, Tamron 28-75, Sigma 12-24, G10, EX-Z55 & U/W housing, A1+10 lenses, tripods, lighting gear, etc. etc.

Sigma 85. My favorite lens :) I tend to always use it at 1.4, but for this event opened up a bit more to keep some of the color and confusion in the background...
