This morning, I became the proud owner of a lightly used 5DC. Super stoked.. Hopefully, I can make it through work -- I just want to go out and shoot!

I have also acquired me one of these absolutely astonishing camera bodies, in fact I got it just a few hours and several hundred photos ago... and my 50mm is just PERFECT on it.

A good photographer can take extraordinary photos anywhere, with any camera and any lens while a mediocre one will take mediocre ones everywhere, with every camera and every lens.
Never limit yourself with what others think you should do. Shoot what you find interesting, exactly the way you want to.

Both of you are lucky! It was my initial idea, get 5D and keep 500D at home for her.
But she likes to take pictures in auto. And in auto here is no central AF point like at our old P&S. She doesn't like it.

Thinking about buying a used 5D to upgrade from my 40D. Not sure. Will I really never look back once I go full frame? I have been whanting to for a while and have loved the 5D since I purchased my first DSLR, Digital Rebel. I wanted to get one when I bought my 40D in '07 but did not have the extra money at the time. Ahh so tempting.

Depends on what you do currently on your 40D. You'll lose out on live view, the "modern" user interface and so and maybe a couple of things. Your focal lenght on your lens will actually be true to what they are though ie 50mm=50mm vs 1.6x crop 50mm equals 84mm or so.

I did the switch from a 60D last week to a 5D and I love it. Might vary though to you because I don't/rarely used LV, the fast FPS and video anymore.
