Srika - you really know how to use that camera. wish i had your talent...
kind of you to say... if its any consolation I've been doing this for 7 yrs, and when I started I was taking DARK photos at the club because I didn't know much about all the aspects. I was learning from the hip. I would then brighten them greatly in post process. I didn't learn how to do it 'properly' until much later on. It took lots and lots of events and lots and lots of time and practice. I still post-process but minimally, only to enhance the photo, not like bring subjects into view (lol). What I'm saying is, 'talent' is not the only part of the equation here, don't be discouraged if you're not getting the results you want. My advice to you now, would be to learn all the technical aspects of shooting as best as you can, by reading and then experimenting hands-on. The talent part is what you bring into the picture after you have those other pieces in place. Because, you can compose and frame a photo with a nice subject and a nice pose but if its technically lacking, its a bad photo.

Plus, he's always out shooting...props for the enthusiasm

thanks, it's kind of like baseball, your chances of hitting a homerun are zero, if you aren't swinging the bat..

With flash on camera use camera settings to set - flash not fire. It will use flash red beam as AF assistance, but no flash. Makes focusing in dark areas very easy.
hey, I didn't know about this.
I would do it by pointing the flash backwards and setting the power to -3. thanks for the info.
