You'd be surprised at how amazingly peaceful it is (providing you're not out in the middle of nowhere in the west coast, wondering if the rustling you heard in the bushes next to you was a squirrel, a black bear or a cougar about to pounce on you haha)

I can live with 10min per shot. Have a beer, relax hehe. I definitely prefer this over street photography.

Haha yeah, it's my relaxing time...the world is so peaceful at 2 a.m. when you're waiting for the shutter to close in 120 seconds, not 1/200th of a second :)

Thanks man! Hopefully it's a little clearer tonight and I'll get a better looking sky.

I also need some colored gels and a softer flashlight.

anyone wondering the low-light focus performance of this camera... this is shot at 200mm from the back of the club.

With flash on camera use camera settings to set - flash not fire. It will use flash red beam as AF assistance, but no flash. Makes focusing in dark areas very easy.

Srika - you really know how to use that camera. wish i had your talent...

kind of you to say... if its any consolation I've been doing this for 7 yrs, and when I started I was taking DARK photos at the club because I didn't know much about all the aspects. I was learning from the hip. I would then brighten them greatly in post process. I didn't learn how to do it 'properly' until much later on. It took lots and lots of events and lots and lots of time and practice. I still post-process but minimally, only to enhance the photo, not like bring subjects into view (lol). What I'm saying is, 'talent' is not the only part of the equation here, don't be discouraged if you're not getting the results you want. My advice to you now, would be to learn all the technical aspects of shooting as best as you can, by reading and then experimenting hands-on. The talent part is what you bring into the picture after you have those other pieces in place. Because, you can compose and frame a photo with a nice subject and a nice pose but if its technically lacking, its a bad photo.

Plus, he's always out shooting...props for the enthusiasm :)

thanks, it's kind of like baseball, your chances of hitting a homerun are zero, if you aren't swinging the bat..

hey, I didn't know about this. :) I would do it by pointing the flash backwards and setting the power to -3. thanks for the info.

OK, it was PJ who suggested it originally few weeks ago to me. I was going to my first photo for hip-hop and asked how to do it properly. You and PJ helped me a lot and in time.
