Does anyone else find that in good outdoor lighting you have to drop the exposure by around 1/3-2/3?

My new arrival seems to want to over-cook images when it thinks it's correctly exposed.

Yes I have, 2thumbs. I've also noticed that when the meter says its perfectly exposed lightroom usually shows a tad under exposed.

Glad it's not just me then. Admittedly I found the same problem with my 40D. I expect they share the same metering system.

Thanks for the confirmation, Aiden. :)

srika, that looks like a d3s. tried one over the holidays, friend brought one of hers down from canada. it would take me awhile to get used to using one, plus i'd have to watch over my shoulder for Chuck Norris to show up and kick my butt for using one.

I do in some situations, it really depends on the scene. Most of the time it's just the scene playing tricks on the reflected light meter!

yes, me too. underexposing in low light / indoor, overexposing in bright light. but easily corrected with manual intervention.
