Love the last shot

Thank you, I really appreciate it.

HDR was made with free software copy from Oloneo

It works with RAW files from 5Dc.

Kf095, I wanted to say the same thing, but the stream was moving fast! The second shot is great, but the two make a nice complementary pair. I like how you have the first one very golden and warm, and the second very blue and cool...

Quick question for you guys. I am having trouble getting the focus assist to work with my 5D and my 580ex. Its turned in the Custom Functions but it still does not come on. The lenses that i am using are the Tamron 17-35mm and the 50mm 1.8, Focus assisnt works with neither one of them. Let me know if i am missing something to this equation.... Thanks :)

Focus assist only comes on AI servo mode, and they're invisible. They wont "come on", but when you review your image, you can see them assisting the focus if you're using the center AF point.

Focus assist only works on one shot and not on servo since it would be shooting a laser beam constantly then...

Check youre settings.

Max, I think he means the flash's focus assist. The red beams it emits.

:lol: I thought that for a second, but not sure why he'd check that with different lenses instead of two different flashes.

I think the technical term for one is the AF-assist beam(custom function default is on), and the other is the assist-AF point/activation area (custom function default is off)

Thanks for the help guys. I had it on servo so that explains that. And by focus assist i was talking about the red light that is emmited. Sorry for the confusion but i got it now, thank you.

Canon has a few including the 20-35/2.8L but theres a consumer 3.5-4.5. Its an old lens, but hey its affordable.
Another oldie is the 17-35/2.8 optics are probs worse than the 20-35/2.8
And then we have the 17-40 which at 700$ it seemed a bit much for me.
NOTE: when i started DSLR photo last yr, these were around 600ish. (Darn inflation!):cry:

Just to clear up some confusion, the 17-35L was the successor to the 20-35L. Worse optics is highly unlikely.

Canon wide zoom lines are as follows with year of release:

- 20-35mm f/2.8L (1989) --> 17-35mm f/2.8L USM (1996) --> 16-35mm f/2.8L USM (2001) --> 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM (2007)

- 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM (1993) --> 17-40mm f/4L USM (2003)

Canon 5D - Canon 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM - Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM

Fantastic image! Warm weather definitely needs to get here. Quickly! :lol: And you, my friend, have to update that signature. ;) Congrats on the purchase. I'll be saying goodbye to my classic tomorrow for the 5D MKii. :D
