"Flashback Friday" during player introductions at Staples Center in Los Angeles... NBA Player, Chris Paul, has contributed more to the city of LA 'off the court' than 'on the court'... His dedication to the community with time, money, and love has made him a fan favorite... I've talked with him on several occasions, before, during, and after the game and he's genuinely a down-to-earth individual... I hope and pray that he continues his efforts for the Houston Rockets, his new playing home... 7D2 + 8-15L Fisheye... ISO 800, f/5.6 @ 1/60sec...

After a good drenching of rain/snow a few days ago, a picturesque scene could be had at this local Los Angeles spot; Kenneth Hahn Park... It was a cold, relatively clear, early morning and I knew that the storm that passed had put several feet of new snow on the San Gabriel Mountains... Add the scenic downtown LA skyline in the foreground and you can surely bet you can capture something wonderfully... There was some 'morning atmospheric dew' in-between the mountains and the skyline, but I think that added some depth to the overall capture... 1DX + 135L + Lee 105mm CPL filter + Lee 0.6 and 0.9 Soft Edge GND Filter (stacked)... ISO 100, f/11 @ 1/5sec exposure...

yesterday it was just a beautiful day in San Pedro; I saw this huge ocean cargo ship coming into to port

the cargo ship is almost right in the center of the image

You got that shot with the 135??? I know that spot that you took it and I would have thought you would have to have a long lens for it. Very nice shot!

Hey Stu... I've shot my 500L and 135L at that location... For future reference and experience, I think 200mm-300mm would be the sweet spot focal length... 500mm was way too close, unless you do a panoramic/stitch image and at 135mm, I had to crop almost half the frame with the image I posted... On my next visit, I'll bring my 200 1.8L with 48mm built-in CPL... I might add a 1.4x TC for added reach, but I want to minimize the amount of glass the sensor has to go through to capture the scenery... Lastly, I'll mount my newly acquired 5DsR, with its whopping 50mp image sensor... Should be a doozy!!!

It's actually one of the hiking trail spots I frequent... It's definitely not on the road, heading to the Observatory parking lot... Might have to do a meet up with this SoCal group in the very near future...
