Track day pics C&C welcome

Few pics from today's track event. 1st time shooting something like this, lmk what you guys think.

Good effort. Maybe time to think about a longer lens.

^ thxs. That was with my 55-250 kit lens. I thought about the 70-200 2.8 it's shorter but faster and IQ should be better.

What lens would you recommend?

800mm lol

It depends on your budget & whether you shoot enough of this stuff to justify buying an expensive piece of glass. OTOH, the cheap solution is to just crop in a bit.

I love my 70-200 F4l, but its not long enough... (thats what she said!) Sorry. But for that price you could get a older 400mm

Or if you are not shooting track days that often just rent a lens?

Think between track days, drift events, golf tournaments and kids soccer games i could prob put it to good use.

What do you guys think about the Canon 100-400 4.5 - 5.6?

I've borrowed & used one & I liked it. But I shoot a lot of low light & v-ball indoors, so I wanted more speed.

I shoot almost all of my track events handheld with the Tamron 28-300. I love the lens. Wide when you need it, but long when you want that far shot. But then again, I have access to basically wherever on the track I'd like. (local lapping days and autocross events)

Although I would like to try an L lens in the 200 to 400mm range.
