Why don't you give us a little information as to what you're posting about so we're not just clicking on a random link?

I think anybody travelling to a country with a draconian regime should err on the side of caution.

The article is about two men fined for taking photos in Abu Dahbi, UAE at a sporting event.

Honestly, as repulsive as it is, considering the locale... not surprising.

Or simply not go. Keep your money at home or in a country that doesn't throw tourists in jail.

Wow....they don't mess around. If I ever decide to travel to Abu Dahbi, I think I'll just leave my camera at home ;)

A group of Brits who were clearly plane spotters got into a lot of trouble for photographing a Greek airport. I don't know of any tourists getting into trouble for taking photographs in the UK but it wouldn't be advisable to shoot sensitive areas such as military installations.

Photographers have been hassled in the UK recently, by both police & security staff. In some cases, camera equipment was confiscated & photographers were told that photography was not allowed, even though they were taking shots in public areas.

"Photography is prohibited around the palace due to the nature and sensitivity of the place as a presidential palace,"

LOL, at least they had a good explanation for convicting these guys, NOT.

When will people learn... stay out of the middle east.. its that simple. You couldn't pay me to live over there.

Well, the link name showed the headline I wanted to highlight. Just realized that the posted link truncates it and does not show the full headline.

Try taking a video of police doing anything in pretty much any American city and see how that turns out. Not, of course, that I'd want to live in Dubai either... 120° summer days? No thanks!
