"TPBM Chat Thread "Desert Island Disks"

You are trapped on a small desert Island but you do not have to worry about food and water there is an adequate supply.

All you have with you is a portable record player (CD player now I guess) The Bible and the complete works of Shakespear.

You are limited to just:
  • 8 pieces of music or recorded spoken word
  • I book
  • I non practical luxury.

Any of Josh Gorban's albums
Any of Andre Bocelli's albums
Sound Track from Les Miserables
Full album of Handle's Messiah
Sound Track of Phantom of the Opera
Best of Queen
Paradise by the Dashboard Light (external link)
Unchained Melody (external link) (Curt's and my song):D

Book could be anyone of the 1/2 dozen I have partially read laying around the house...I really should finish one of them...hmmmm the biggest on would be CookWise so I guess that would be the one.

Non practical luxury - Baxter.

Thanks guys. Yes he was alone. I am just glad it was not my mom. Dad is pretty tough and laughing it off. He had a laptop, ipad, nice watch, flight bag full of expensive electronics but all they got was his blackberry when it fell out of his pocket.

My dad got roughed up and almost car jacked last night. He is okay but is bruised and has a swollen elbow but the ER cleared him. Here (external link)is a bit about it, second story on 31st street.. The report says he complied and gave them the keys but actually he locked the car and threw them. He did not think to hit the panic button though. They got the keys but set the alarm off opening the car and then said "it's a stick car we can't drive that". Stupid ignorant pieces of **** I have all my feelers out, they will be found.

Cwap...glad he is OK.

It is where some people hang out. Mostly an over 40 crowd with some youngsters. Everyone is welcome but you will fit in best if you keep up on what is going on here and don't just use it as a place to burn time with no care for the people or happenings. There are lots of places on the net for that. Most of us have met and try to keep personal relationships. Follow along and you may make some friends.

Tell us a bit about yourself, maybe post a picture. You like dogs? It is a requirement :-|

Spike Milligan (One of GBs greatest comedians) has this Irish inscription on his grave

"Duirt me leat go raibh me breoite"

(I told you I was ill)

He and his cohorts (Sellers and Secombe) are sorely missed.

Way over 40
Love dogs (not particularly fond of yappers)

Born and raised in the New Orleans area but moved around a good bit in the 80's and 90's. Now I'm back home in South La for good. I grew up with an old Pentax in my hand but for some reason got away from photography for almost 20 years. I bought a Kodak EZ share about 3 years ago and now I use a T1i I bought about a tear ago.

This is me with my sister Geri.

Ill have to wait until i get home later tonight. All links blocked off at work

Maybe that is because they want you to work.

Becky N wrote in post #11905271 (external link)
NEIL good idea, I too will need to wait until later, no sound card in my work computer and I'll have to think about it for a bit.

ZANE you still getting National Geographic? Have you read the article in the latest regarding Taming the Wild, very interesting.

ALL above article is about an experiment with gray fox where they are breeding the calmer/gentler kits to see how long it takes to domesticate. The theory being this is more nature or genetic than it is nurturing. Within a 4 -5 generations the fox are wagging their tails, holding them up right, their ears stay drooped longer as they mature, and their coats are getting spotted, though they use a different term. The experiment has been going on over a few decades in Russia, beginning in secret because anything doing with the study of genetics was banned.

The article goes further into other species as well. Going by memory only 15 species of all the species in the world have domesticated. They continue to study to see if they can isolate the gene or gene group that carries this response and then to see if the similar genome is in other species.

I have no recieved my copy yet.

I have potting soil, planters and a bunch o' seeds (tomatoes, peppers, flowers, etc), but I just can't figure out when I should start planting this year's balcony garden. I thought spring had arrived a couple weeks ago, and I was ready to get everything started, then things turned cold again. Very cold. Even snow again, last weekend...

And, we have another cold storm headed our way again next weekend, too.

But, I noticed this morning that the cherry trees are starting to blossom.

I'm so confuzzled!

Googl planting times in your area. It is Kali so you will have to wade through the pot info but it will be there.

So, we have a Regional VP that continues to live in the 80's with all that attitude/inspiration hoo haw. Still plays all the games at sales meetings, etc.

A few months ago he started writing on the stuff like "Let Me Hear You" on the white board in customer service. We often talk about what we would like to say be seldom, unless someone is brown nosing, does anyone write anything...that is until today, and it says...

MOO!

Blasphemy, I tell you, pure blasphemy.;)
