I have often wondered what are the chances of one of these hitting a ship or boat, I know its a big ocean but those things are huge and must be coming down at a significant speed.

The odds are pretty long for that too happen. The SRB's come down by parachute, (you can see the parachute shrowds hanging down in the video) and there are warnings to the shipping and fishing folks to stand clear.

Have you been watching your "Special Videos" again

*swishhhhhhhhhhhhhhh* right over my head. What does that mean?
Really you figure $20 in gas, half a day tied up, maybe $25 in materials, tools, insurance, vehicle costs and you end up with no profit.

I was a contractor and people don't understand what it costs to do business. It is the same with auto mechanics. They are expensive but truth be told it's not like they roll out of the shop at the end of the day and go back to the estate house and have their cook make them dinner.

LoL If its in International waters, could someone find it and claim "Salvage" ?

We are home and tired. I cleaned out the fridge, which is the only appliance we are keeping, took down horrible drapes full of dust, vacuumed and dusted. I also went to Lowe's and ordered the appliances, they will be delivered in 2 weeks. They wanted 200 bux to install the dishwasher!! I figure we'll ask the building maintenance guy of he wants to make a few bux.

I'll do it for $50...plus airfare. ;)

I was just thinking about the word, "Hippopotamus". It's a convoluted Latin word meaning, "River Horse".

OK, what latin dude thought that up?

"Hey, Octavius, what's that freakin' HUGE animal in the water over there?"

"It's a... it's a... HORSE! In a... RIVER!"

"...really? THAT'S a horse. OK, no more tequila for you, you sot."

Here is the tattoo I was talking about a few days ago on the foot of Caitlin's BFF, Janna. She is an amateur, or wannabe, paleontologist. Not something I would want, but still kinda unique. Caitlin's cell phone shot, shared with permission.

I like that!

Apparently, my brain has slipped into neutral. I just read an article about some guy who was studying "domesticated emmer wheat" of Syria.

Domesticated emmer wheat.

Were there just huge herds of emmer wheat just roving the wilderness? Along came Larry "Wheatbuster" McGarrett and he started rounding up and branding these wild, free range wheat colonies? Then there was the great Emmer Wheat Drive of 1885 that took the massive herds of emmer wheat from the ranches down South to the great Silos of the North for processing.

My brain needs a leash.

No leashing of the brain! *calls whatever group chains themselves to heavy equipment in protest*

There is a story that has been around for years, reportedly true, but I doubt it. It is the transcript of a radio transmission between the British and the American Navy:

British Voice : Hello unidentified vessel, we have you on radar and note that you are on collision course with us, we suggest that you maneuver 35 degrees to Port.

American Voice : This is the USS George W Bush, thank you for your information, we tend not to alter course at the whim of smaller navies so we suggest that you alter course 35 degrees to starboard.

English Voice : Sorry no can do, please alter your course 35 degrees to Port to avoid a collision.

American Voice : Listen bud, did you hear what I said, we are the USS George W Bush, the most powerful warship in the world, we carry more weaponry on board this ship than can be found in the entire Royal Navy and you expect us to move out of the way for you?

English Voice : That is an affirmative, please alter your course.

American Voice : Listen, we ain't changing our course for anyone, who the hell are you anyway.

English Voice : We are the Hartland Point Lighthouse, and suggest you make your alteration as soon as possible.

!!

I think they land about 150 miles off the coast. The resident Coastie here could probably give better advice regarding marine salvage.

I just guessing, but I strongly suspect recently launched SRB's don't follow the same rules as an abandoned ship...

Shhh, you weren't suppose to tell. Actually there is a hunting season for them in Wisconsin. But who has a roaster that big?

Down loading evidence as I type. But need to go turn the pork. Back in a bit.
