Hi everyone!

Thanks to all those who commented on the edits yesterday. Shows that there are (at least) as many opinions as photogs...

Changed my mind already.

If you don't roam the halls you don't find links to pictures like these.

There are some amazing images here, and everyone looks so happy, some of these are a bit NSFW if you use non European standards :-)

Is that T.D. in #15?

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

The people are blurry.

T.D. the colored shot of the race does more for me but I think you did a good job trying to make the best out of lousy conditions. I really like the second shot.

Very fun day. Had most of the families here for a combined b-day bash for Hubby and my Sis in law.

Unfortunately, because we are in city limits, we are limited in our fiah *sigh* so no bon fire picnic tables at this one We were able to part out an old bar stool and burn it slowly in the cute lil kettle thingy

*sigh* sounds like more fun than I suspect we will have today with the combined March birthdays.

short5 wrote in post #12053834 (external link)
Went antler hunting this afternoon...

Awww, your two favorite girls. Very nice, Zane. What kind of ammo do you use for antler hunting.;)

So sorry, Dan.

So, per Becky's idea, here are a few shots of bits of what I have been tinkering with.

Very cool.

My series is so going to pale to yours and Jim's. Both in content and picture quality.:o They will be posted this afternoon.

G'MAE all.

Singing at 2 services, picking up some things from Allen Street, then the outlaws for the March birthday bust...uh...bash. I'll see you later.

Mornin!!

Last night I dreamed I was out in the woods (tho sometimes there were tidal pools) with Leyla discovering stuff, we found a tooth. When we brought it into my new apartment to show everyone you had all rearranged the furniture (which was all new to me anyways) and were playing board games in the living room.

It was a raccoon's tooth, the canine.

WOOL: Sorry to hear about the cancer situation. Very sad. Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

ZANE: Very cool shots of your explosive hobby. Looks a lot more involved than I originally thought.

NEIL: The shots from Rio were great. While I agree that the "halls" can be irritating, at best, there are some gems to be found in the rubble. ;)

Good Morning

This afternoon while waiting for the charcoal to get ready I hear a flock of Sandhill Cranes, very cool.

Very cool. I love seeing big birds. We get very few of them summering here, but there is a major migration route through northern Alberta too.

Nice, I like the action blur, but also prefer the colour.

Hot yoga, cold yogurt, lukewarm whatever...I'm with her. It ain't going to happen. :D:rolleyes:

You like warm yogurt?

misspix wrote in post #12053757 (external link)
Yoga has so many good benefits, not sure I could do the heat though. I have a hard time functioning at extreme temps in either direction.

I am extremely amazed at how fast I adapted to the heat. I still do sweat buckets, and it is actually breathing the hot air that seems to get me more than the heat in the room. Like I mentioned before, I think it has to do with the fact there is no sun thrown in like most other hot temps I have suffered.

Lotsa fun. :)
I had viewed these on my phone last night, and I am surprised that the image quality is so much better on it than my monitor. Maybe because the pixels are packed into a much smaller screen.

K-dog just needs to get out a burn some of it off. Once it warms up and he can run and swim again....he will trim right down.

That is true, though cold weather exercise burns even more calories off them. One thing about the cold here, is that the precipitation is snow which is fine to walk in, the rain other places get in winter, not so much.

No, I dislike all yogurt at any temperature. My mother fed me too much of that stuff when I was growing up in Europe.

I suspect hot yoga might be good for my old bones, but I'm a wuss when it comes to heat, and I have this innate aversion to all things good for me. ;)

Hitting my head against the walls trying to find a decent solution to scan my collection of slides....

I don't want to send them externally as
1/ it would be expensive
2/ I don't wanna risk losing them...

Have you considered buying a scanner, scanning the slides and then selling the scanner? I bought a used scanner on eBay a couple of years ago, scanned my dad's slides and then sold it for almost the same price I paid originally. It was a lot of work, but out of pocket cash was kept to a minimum.

In response to Becky's call for project photos, this baby shower cake kept the baker in this house busy most of yesterday.

IMAGE: http://tjb.smugmug.com/Other/Web/B62D5389/1222089702_weQpy-L.jpg

Sorry, but I was not permitted to take "in process" shots. She was muttering something about not wanting others to see how messy the kitchen is when something is a work in progress.

Ducky and the umbrella handle are a fudge chocolate cake with orange cream filling. The umbrella is a lemon cake with butter cream filling.

For scale purposes, the blue base is roughly 2'x3'

Cat, gird your loins. Avert your eyes. Do whatever it takes to not look at this image. A serious crime against the vintage occurred here!!

Trying the "Film Noir" preset in Silver Efex 2 ^^^^

I really like them both. The processing on the second one is fantastic (thought the subject matter is HORRENDOUS! HOCK!)

I can't decide if I prefer this shot in BW, or the other one you did in color.
